Sunday Funday for Erica’s Birthday at Outside Lands. Outside Lands is one of the main music festivals held in the bay area. I never had a real urge to attend, but this year I went for my girlfriend’s birthday and Sir Elton John. I love music festivals but I am more of a Coachella girl. However, to my surprise I actually enjoyed myself more than I expected.

Outside Lands has a more “dirty” eclectic feel than Coachella which attracts all shapes and sizes to this festival. I personally was excited for a lot of the local bands, Slightly Stoopid, Sam Smith, Odesza, Caribou, Axwell & Ingrosso, DJ Mustard and Sir Elton.

Like all music festivals you can never see all the dj’s and bands because of timing constraints. Our group did a great job with jumping and dancing from stage to stage to see the dj’s and bands we wanted to see.

My highlight of the day was Elton John and watching him sing Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. He is one of the performers on my bucket list  of artists that I can now cross off. He definitely has not aged vocally and he is still the cutest piano player ever. From one pianist to another, I loved listening to him as a child and it was such an unforgettable moment.

Here are a few of my bucket list artists (some not alive unfortunately) that are on my list:
